We're walking for Autism - POAC NJ

We are walking for autism on April 24th, 2010. No, we are not walking for Autism Speaks. We are walking for our local charity POAC NJ - POAC is Parents of Autistic Children and they are the group that does the most for kids like Alex here in New Jersey with its SkyHigh Autism Rate.

When we first moved here we took part in a parent training that was a 6 or 8 session course on Verbal Behavior. They also run training for First Responders, teachers, parents, and other caregivers. In addition to the training and support that POAC provides they also host a lot of fun and free events for the kids - like surfing and music therapy.

So, despite the fact that Alex has struggled with the Blue Claws Stadium (it is big, loud and crowded) - we signed up to walk and raise some money to give back to POAC for all that it gives to kids like Alex and families like our own.
