Mario Goes Gluten Free!

Alex just loves Super Mario for the Wii and DS. The Easter bunny brought him a new DS game, Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story and ever since then he has been talking at Hot Drumsticks, Fiery Drumsticks, Syrup Jars, and 1-up mushrooms.

He asked if we could make hot drumsticks and 1-up mushrooms for dinner, and I knew this would be very do-able. First, Alex loves chicken drumsticks so I just prepared his drumsticks with a BBQ marinade. I knew he'd eat this because he loves chicken on the bone and eats it all the time. For the mushrooms, I wasn't sure if he'd eat them because he's never eaten a mushroom in his life! I whipped up some egg and coated the whole mushrooms in egg and then in gluten free breadcrumbs. Then I dropped in a little bit of green coloring and some Kenzoil- put them in the oven to bake for about 25 minutes. He liked them!
